Hello!

My name is Tatiana and this is the website that houses creative ideas that float through my brain and into tangibility. Some of my projects will never make it out of my head; the hope is that this site gives life to some of them.

Moving the needle against housing instability is my deepest passion and focus for impact in my career. This vocation became one of the only things I cared about during a life transition (the transition into adulthood). I forgot how to live wholly. I lost the ways I coped within myself. I rewrote a version of myself that was close-enough, but not totally authentic. I was distracted by grief, drawn to my agency’s mission, and satiated by the comfort of my partner’s love. After almost a full decade of distraction, I find myself here trying to find out who I am as a creative adult, knowing who I was as a creative child.

As a child, creation flowed through me to process my emotions and assert my autonomy. It wasn’t hard to access, it was hard to turn off.

When I create now, I create in escape or inspiration from what I experience during the day. I create to remember that I am dynamic and encourage the child-like excitement that is sometimes sparked by my racing thoughts. I create purposefully and I have to turn it on.

Now, I create to intentionally assert my identity and record my experiences.

I hope that as I share my art, I can share my pride, my struggles, my insights, and my joy.

I am SO proud and overjoyed to be a black woman. I am proud to be the daughter of two Jamaican-Americans. I am proud to be different. I am proud to have learned my differences through my hardest years, a late diagnosis, and failure. I am proud of the depth in my relationships. I see abundance all around me all the time.

I see life as something so bright and hopeful, most days, and that is what I hope shines through. I hope that the critical thoughts and hopelessness that I feel in contrast are small parts of my art overshadowed by whimsy and texture.

The variations in forms and types of content that I am inspired to create will be broad but they are all connected through me.
